As you may have noticed over the past couple of days I have gone in a new direction with my blog! I just decided that I was going to make it look a little nicer and then from then on it was just like a chain reaction and now it is well, the way it is haha! I think I really like the layout now! I am also trying to kill an old habit by posting more often on my blog! We will have to see how that goal goes :s In the past it has not been so successful but I am determined to make it work this time! My blog may be rough, long, short, or anything in between :s I am simply just trying to post more but I never said it would be perfect all the time so please excuse my grammar mistakes that I am sure will occur in the near future! Here is just a silly picture of me :) I was pretty bored can you tell?

This week has been a lot harder than it's been in a while... Sometimes reality kinda catches you off guard and makes you really think ya know? And a lot of thinking I eventually brought up a couple things that I buried deep down inside. It's been really hard for me going through this all again... No one ever said that life would be easy, but they didn't say it would be this hard either.
I am trying to get back to my VERY neglected blog :s I guess old habits never end but hopefully this time I will stay on top of keeping it current :) Only time will tell

This past weekend I was up in Salt Lake at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel with all CTSO officers (Career & Technical Student Organizations) getting leadership training and I have to say it was pretty fun! Who knew leadership training could actually be fun? But at nights when we had meetings with are own organizations and now I am WAY excited for are trip to Nashville, Tennessee and Washington D.C. but maybe not so excited to have to try deep fried pickles in Nashville :s that sounds so disgusting but are State Advisor Candace Thurgood says they are delicious and that we have to try them unless we are alergic to grease or pickles so I guess I will just have to see. Being an FCCLA state officer is so much fun and an AMAZING experience and I can't wait to be one again next year and then I am going to run to be a National FCCLA officer in 2 years! I can't wait! Yes that's right! School is out for summer vacation! Well one more day but its just for yearbook signing :) I am so ready to sleep in and sit by the pool and relax maybe even get in a couple times! This summer will be amazing! I am going to be so busy! I am going to EFY in June (unfortunatly) but in the middle of it I have an FCCLA meeting at BYU where EFY is held so I can have a little break from it and then in July I have a bunch of FCCLA meetings and NATIONALS!!! This year it is in Nashville, Tennessee and because I am a state officer we will be doing EVERYTHING there! It will be a bunch of fun! And then a while ago my mom told me that we got 7-Peaks season passes (apparently she told us about this around christmas time)! It will be really fun! And then when school get back in that will be fun anyways being a sophmore and all plus all next year my schedule is packed will FCCLA stuff like going to Washington D.C. in September! It will be a TON of fun! I can't wait!

This past bit of time we have been doing a lot for choir. Since its really are last week of school I decided that I would just focus on the words of the songs everyone was singing and what they ment and how the song sounded and honestly, some of the most amazing things are said in these songs. One that I really liked was sung by are schools concert choir that I will be in next year and is called "Thou Gracious God" the words are as follows:
Thou gracious God, whose mercy lends
the light of home, the smile of friends,
our gathered flock thine arms enfold
as in the peaceful days of old.
Wilt thou not hear us while we raise
in sweet accord of solemn praise
the voices that have mingled long
in joyous flow of mirth and song?
For all the blessings life has brought,
for all its sorrowing hours have taught,
for all we mourn, for all we keep,
the hands we clasp, the loved that sleep.
The noontide sunshine of the past,
these brief, bright moments fading fast,
the stars that gild our darkening years,
the twilight ray from holier spheres.
We thank thee, Father; let thy grace
our loving circle still embrace,
thy mercy shed its heavenly store,
thy peace be with us evermore.
I just thought that the words kinda hit home and the song just sounded amazing. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sings it, if you search it up on itunes both versions sound equally amazing! I just thought that the words to the song had such deep meaning especially the third verse really for me at least. And the last song is called "Have I Done Any Good?" and that one is in the hymn book, hymn number 223. It just made me think about how much good I have done and that I should really just get up and do as much as I can to help. Helping is such an easy thing to do most of the time and we can greatly benefit from all of our good works! Here are the words ~
Have I done any good in the world today?
Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad,
and made someone feel glad?
If not I have failed indeed.
Has anyone's burden been lighter today
because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary
been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?
Then wake up and do something more
than dream of your mansion above.
Doing good is a pleasure,
a joy beyond measure,
a blessing of duty and love.

Early on this month I knew Christmas was somewhat near but really it did not seem like Christmas would be anytime soon because it was sorta warm on some of the days in the afternoon and there was no snow or anything and even though Christmas music had been playing on the radio since the day after Halloween it was just not feeling like Christmas. But then it snowed only a little and it melted soon after but I started thinking about Christmas and past Christmas' and all that and began to get into the Christmas mood! I began thinking about all the people that can be so stressed out and unhappy around Christmas time and was like this is supposed to be the happiest time of the year and you are stressing becuase of all the work you have to do for the holidays? Then I thought how easy it is to get in this mind set if we are not careful but I decided I would do all I can not to be like that and have an amazing Christmas maybe even the best Christmas ever! I just love the feeling of Christmas and all the happy people around you and the beautiful decorations and a nice blanket of snow instantly making even the most simple landscape look amazing! Ok i'm not so fond of ice on the sidewalks and roads and the chilly weather but everything else is just so amazing! Around the holidays you either see the best of a person or the worst of a person and I decided that I was going to try my best to be the best I can be around the holidays and try to keep it that way!

One of my favorite things about Christmas is all the old and new family traditions! A couple weeks ago we decorated are Christmas tree and even though I love putting the star on the tree I let Kayla do it this year becuase she kept asking me so I was like what the heck I guess she can have a turn this year and me and her decorated the tree! It looks amazing so I took a picture of it to show! Haha and hopefully soon there will be more than one present under the tree! By the way the ornaments are clear glass so you can't see them very well in the picture but they are really there you just have to look!

Ok so it has been a while since I added another entry to this thing but I'm trying to get better! So recently I have been trying to pick a star event to compete in for the FCCLA competition. For those of you who don't know what FCCLA is it is Family Career and Community Leaders of America! It is so much fun and even though you have to work super super super hard to make it to nationals it is so worth it! This past July I went to Nationals in Orlando, Florida! It was a ton of fun and we did so many cool things like SeaWorld, Aquatica, Disney World, and a whole bunch of touring and good food! So both years I have gone guys have competed but I end up being the only one who makes it to nationals but I guess that shows that I worked that much harder on my project and I'm not complaining haha! 1 week 2 guys and 6 girls including are chaperones who are married so pretty much it was me and 5 girls which is good and bad. Haha bad on times that you go out to eat and despite trying to keep it a secret someone spills the beans that its your birthday and this happens...
but I guess that life haha someone will eventually find out its your birthday and tell the waitor at and italion restuarant in the Epcot Center. But I must say one of the most rewarding experiences of this trip was going to SeaWorld. It was a ton of fun. I really like animals and stuff and this was just like a really cool and fun place to go! The Shamu show I must say was my favorite though it is so amazing how people and animals can cooperate and do tricks like the one in this picture below its just mind boggling.
But one thing that we did that should never be done is go to the Shamu show and get soaking wet and then decide to go on a ride where you explore through the arctic and stuff and they try to make it as real as possible so you go on a ride just like Soarin over California or Soarin over Orlando here but its the arctic and they try to keep the temperature down really low so it feels and looks like your really there. Haha we really wanted to kill ourselves then but then we got out and went on some cool rides like that one Atlantis ride and stuff like that and we were traveling with a photographer as one of our chaperones so we took pictures literally anywhere that she felt like stopping and snapping a coulple pics. So here is one of many many pictures we took at the end of a ride.
Haha it was a very exciting and rewarding experience and hey your without your parents for a week! But anyways soon I am going to start studying all this stuff because I am going to be training to possibly be an FCCLA Utah State Officer and maybe a national officer sometime in future! It is really hard but everyone I know that has been one has loved it! So I am going to take a shot at it and I have a pretty big chance as a state officer but it gets tricky when it comes to national officer becuase tons of people all over the nation want to be one but I guess we will just see!
